Once struggling with addiction, he is now a famous writer who gained popularity with a book about a murder from twenty years ago in his hometown of Zybork. Facing a blackmailer threatening to reveal the truth, he faces his tragic past. He is accompanied by his wife Justyna, an ambitious investigative journalist who quickly gets involved in the investigation into local corruption.The couple arrives for the birthday party of Mikolaj’s father, Tomasz Glowacki, a strong and influential local activist who leads the community of Zybork and openly fights against local corruption and the local government’s plans to transform the city against the will of the residents.
